From the 31st of January to the 3rd of February, the Natour Alpe-Adria, the main
tourist fair in Slovenia which promotes green, active tourism, will take place
at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. Active vacation in nature will be presented
by many Slovenian organizations, such as the Slovenian Tourist Board and the
Tourist Association of Slovenia with over 150 local communities and
associations, the Fishing Association of Slovenia, the Mountain Association of
Slovenia, GIZ Hiking and Biking, the Slovenian Forest Service, and the
Association of Slovenian Tourist Farmers, some foreign destinations will join
as well.
At the 29th Natour Alpe-Adria, there will be 200 tourism providers from Slovenia, Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, Italy, Austria, Hungary, the Czech
Republic, Jordan and Nepal. Events at the exhibition spaces will be accompanied
by interesting events, from expert consultations to travel lectures. The
program is still under preparation and will be presented in the next press
release.
For the
eighth time, the Jakob Award for quality and excellence in the Alpe Adria
region will be presented at the fair. This time, the Jakob Award, on topic Innovative Tourist Programs and The Offer
on Wine Roads has been awarded to
the Company Gols Connect. The
company has been developing a very precise and well-considered offer in the
wine growing region Golsa near the Neusiedler Lake, the largest part of which
is in Burgenland in Austria, and its smaller, southernmost part, in Hungary.
»The offer of the wine road is enriched by event and entertainment programs.
Wine culture is experienced by visitors differently: during cycling, related to
sports activities, Nordic walking and other forms. There are about 80 such wine
tours available. During visits to the wine cellars, they learn about culinary
specialties with various tastings, organized cooking workshops and lectures,
even in connection with getting possible
handicraft or fine arts knowledge, including cosmetics, and other contents. The
whole system is very clearly and firmly established. Not only dates, but also
prices, which proves that such a policy can bring adequate tourism benefits to
everyone in the wine-growing region, " is written in the report of the
commission consisting of prof. dr. Janez
Bogataj, President, Jožko Sirk and Lojze Wieser, Members. This year's theme of
the competition is New Sustainable
Hunting and Fishing Forms.
On the first
day of the fair, the 29th Natour Alpe-Adria will be officially
opened by dr. Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.
At the same
time, the GASTexpo – The Fairs of the Tastes,
