The 33rd Alpe-Adria fair for tourism, camping and caravanning is approaching

Between 15 and 18 February, the Economic Exhibition Centre will be dedicated to tourism and gastronomy, as two trade fair events will take place at the same time; the 33rd Alpe-Adria fair for Tourism, Camping and Caravanning, and the 16th International expert fair of Tastes GastEXPO.

At the 33rd Alpe-Adria fair, more than 250 tourist service providers from Slovenia, Tunisia, Nepal, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Italy will present their experiences. Montenegro are the partner country of the fair and will also present their tourist offer.

More than 50 events will take place with different contents, from cycling, climbing, cuisine, various outdoor activities to presentations of innovations in tourism, its digitalization and sustainability. Camping and caravanning are becoming increasingly popular forms of recreation in nature, meaning that a wide range of tents and camping and caravanning experiences will be presented at the fair.

The Jakob award for quality and excellence in the Alps-Adriatic region will be awarded for the 12th time at the fair. This year, Jakob was awarded to a project on the Educational trail as a tourist product by Educational trail Drvošec and Visitor center Lake Cerknica, Public Institute of Notranjska Regional Park. They applied with the project that acquired an important upgrade in 2022. Visitor center Lake Cerknica opened at the starting point of Educational trail Drvošec in October It includes an interactive exhibition where visitors can discover the world of the mysterious Lake Cerknica and listen to the stories of its transformations before or after taking a walk on the educational trail.

The 33rd Alpe-Adria Fair will be officially opened by Matjaž Han, Minister of the Economy, Tourism and Sport at the opening ceremony. There will also be a conversation with the minister after the official part which will be led by Drago Bulc, president of the Association of Tourism Journalists.

SIDE EVENTS
Events in the exhibition halls include a diverse side program with lectures, presentations, round tables and press conferences with current content in tourism.

FAIR OF TASTES GASTEXPO
Traditionally, the 16th International Expert Fair of Tastes GASTexpo, organized by Primorski sejem, is also held during the same period. They are preparing a true gastronomy tour – from drinks, coffee, confectionery, baking products, ice cream, wine, including catering and hotel industry equipment, to lectures, workshops and interactive training – from pizza, pastry and bakery workshops, to coffee preparation. The event will also be brightened up by an international competition – participants will compete in pizza preparation for the distinguished title of “Best pizza maker in Slovenia”. One ticket provides access to both fair events.

OPENING HOURS and ENTRY FEE
The fair is open from Wednesday, 15 February, to Friday, 17 February, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, 18 February, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. When purchasing a ticket, every visitor receives Oddih, a special issue of the Dnevnik newspaper, which will also be used as the fair catalogue.

A regular ticket costs 8 euros, discount ticket costs 6 euros, and you can also choose a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children) for 16 euros.

Visitors can get tickets at the reduced price of 6 euros on the website.

Tickets allow visitors to use public LPP buses for free.
