Last night, the doors of the Alpe-Adria: Tourism and Leisure Show and the Boat Show officially closed. The Tourism Show, titled the Alpe-Adria Show since last year, is the official tourist event of the Alps-Adriatic region, which incorporates 10 individual regions of Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia.

Until Sunday, GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre is hosting one of the most lively and varied fairs in Slovenia. The Tourism Show, which carries the name Alpe-Adria since 2011, is the official tourist event of the Alps-Adriatic region, which incorporates 10 individual regions of Austria, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia.

Last night, Alpe-Adria: Tourism and Leisure Show and the Boat Show officially opened their doors. This year, GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre presents over 300 tourist service providers from 11 countries and 16 nautical companies, all organised by destinations and tourist products.

At the Alpe-Adria Show, Tourism Ljubljana also presents itself within the framework of the Central Slovenia region. The Happy Johnny double-decker bus will host accordion ensemble Pustotniki and a rich presentation of the region ...

The most significant novelty of this year’s Alpe-Adria Show is the emphasis on gastronomy and wine. Within the framework of the Show, an International Competition of Chefs from South Eastern Europe will take place in front of a live audience of visitors, while Slovenian winemakers will also present themselves.

The Show is the only fair within the AA region, which presents the tourist offer to the public organized by destinations from which the exhibitors originate, and by products of the exhibition programme.

This year, Alpe-Adria will again host two meetings of tourism industry professionals: the Meeting of Tourist Guides and the Meeting of Travel Journalists of the Alps-Adriatic Working Community.

In cooperation with the Slovene Association of Chefs and Confectioners and other partners, Alpe-Adria: Tourism and Leisure Show will also host international cooking competition, the Global Chef Challenge, which will take place in front of a live audience of visitors.

The recipient of the Jakob prize, the prize for quality and excellence in tourism in the Alps-Adriatic region under this year’s title Innovative tourist products in the field of alternative forms of leisure and relaxation, has been selected!

The City Municipality of Velenje received the prize Naša Slovenija for its reconstruction of Villa Bianca. The prize is awarded to individuals, associations and informal civil initiatives for their endeavours in preserving Slovenian cultural heritage, landscape and the foundations of Slovenian visibility within the entire Slovenian cultural and ethical space.
