Have you ever heard of the Jakob Fair Award, which is awarded for excellence and quality in tourism at the Alpe-Adria Trade Fair? The award got its name after the first tourist traveller, the pilgrim Jakob. Next year we will award the 10thJakob! The topic of this contest is “Innovative tourist content and programs in castles and chateaus”. The deadline for submitting the documentation is October the 29th. We are inviting municipalities and other institutions that designed innovative programs or activities in the castle and chateau premises to participate.
The International Commission, led by prof. dr. Janez Bogataj, introduced some novelties on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Jacob. From now on, up to five best projects will be selected from the received applications. Among them, the jury will select the best one which will receive the Jakob Award for a particular year, and will also receive the title The Ambassador of Innovation in Tourism for the contest topic of.
